Acupuncture for Allergies

Love the flowers but hate the clogged sinuses?

Acupuncture has got you covered with just a few little points

Springtime in Portland is in full swing!

While we have been waiting for all the beauty and sunshine, it brings a brutal allergy season for some. Some of our patients have had seasonal allergies for a very long time and some have never had seasonal allergies prior to living in Portland. Either way- acupuncture can help you with the acute side effects of runny or stuffy noses, itchy watering eyes, and sneezing. And it can also help you long term by boosting your overall immune system!

Acupuncture for allergies is so safe and effective that researchers are taking note! The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery recommends acupuncture as a non-pharmacological therapy for allergic rhinitis. They noted that it is specifically helpful for environmental allergies such as pollen, dust mites, molds, dander and more. (1)

Some of my favorite acupuncture points for seasonal allergies are:

Bi Tong, Juliao, and Yin Tang.

You might notice yourself already rubbing these points to open up your sinuses so you can ahhhh... breathe again. Tiny little needles in those spots really help bring the relief to another level.

Are you suffering from seasonal allergies this year?

Sounds like it’s time to schedule an acupuncture appointment today!
