Why Acupuncture?

Will Acupuncture help with your Acute Injury or Chronic Pain even if you don’t believe in it? Yes.

I like to tell folks that it’s much like the stock market. Acupuncture will exist and work for you whether or not you completely understand it. And that’s okay.

What do first timers have us treat most and what do we thrive at? Acute Injuries and Chronic Pain.

Here is WHY you should choose Acupuncture for your Pain Management:

Our intake as acupuncturists is thorough, hands-on, and holistic-focused. Specifically with acute injuries, we are often the first or second on the scene and want to do our best to get your pain levels lowered. We do this by doing a lengthy review of your overall health, along with doing orthopedic testing. We do this to get a better picture of your issues that you come in for (i.e “I hurt my shoulder and now can’t lift it above my head”) and also to get to the root of things.

Acute injury and chronic pain can be a complex process- involving the autonomic nervous system, endocrine system (your body’s hormones), and immune system. This complex process can be manageable given the proper attention to all the parts, including us asking about your sleep, stress, digestion, and more.

Our diagnostics as acupuncturists measure both how much acupuncture you will need. Sudden and painful conditions are recommended to come in 2x a week for the first week and then 1x weekly for the following three weeks. Then we reevaluate depending on how your body is responding to treatment.

Unlike your primary care doctor, acupuncturists often have the availability to see you weekly. This allows us to closely track your pain levels, get to know a lot about your daily habits, suggest chiropractic care if we notice a rib is out, recommend to you to see a pelvic PT if the root of your pain issue is from pelvic misalignment, etc. We keep a close eye on all matters involving your health. In this way, we are like a health coach that wants to help you reach your short and long term goals through shared decision making with you and collaborating care with other health care providers.

And the tiny needles? They really do get big results for pain management!

Just check the many online reviews of folks who have found pain relief from trying out Acupuncture.

And always feel free to email me at al.reed.acupuncture@gmail.com if you have more questions! Like most relationships, it’s important that you find an acupuncturist that you can trust and will communicate with you in a clear and detailed way. I hope I can be that person for you!
